Lower Neponset River Citizens Advisory Committee
The Lower Neponset River is an important resource with significance to public health, recreation, the environment, and the history of its environs. In order to address issues, ideas, and alternatives for the cleanup, restoration, and preservation of the River, a Citizens Advisory Committee (CAC) has been sponsored by the state Department of Conservation and Recreation, the Department of Fish and Game, the City of Boston Office of Environmental and Energy Services, the Town of Milton Conservation Commission, the Lower Mills Merchants Association, and the Neponset River Watershed Association.
In order to ensure a fair and open dialogue, the independent Consensus Building Institute (CBI) of Cambridge, MA has been asked to facilitate the Committee. The Committee’s members will be broadly representative of the many community groups along the Neponset, to ensure that a diversity of viewpoints are represented.
