CBI Publications

As academics and practitioners, CBI staff members are continually involved in research projects, documenting and evaluating the current practice of consensus building both in the United States and elsewhere. Our research on many issues, including how organizations deal with the public during crises and international environmental diplomacy, advances knowledge by combining reflections on practice with theory-building analysis. We have also written several award- winning publications including The Consensus Building Handbook and Dealing with an Angry Public: The Mutual Gains Approach to Resolving Disputes.

CBI staff analysis is frequently captured in articles, book chapters, and working papers. These cover an impressive range of topics, from land use mediation, to teaching consensus building in the high school classroom, to stakeholder and policy dialogues about public policy concerns.
